Google has launched a new image-creation technology called Nano Banana Pro, a more advanced version of its earlier Nano Banana model. The company says this upgraded tool can help anyone turn ideas, sketches or even rough notes into clear, high-quality visuals. Whether it’s a simple diagram for school, a design mockup for work or an infographic for social media, Nano Banana Pro aims to make the entire process easier and more accurate.
The biggest strength of Nano Banana Pro is that it understands context better. This means when you ask it to create an image, it uses Google’s world knowledge and real-time information to generate visuals that are more logical and realistic. For example, students can get detailed educational images to better understand a topic, and users can even create quick visuals about recipes, weather or sports by tapping into Google Search data.
Another major improvement is the way Nano Banana Pro handles text inside images. Earlier image-generating tools often struggled to write clear and correct text within pictures. But Google says this new model produces neat, readable text in many languages, whether it’s a short slogan or a long paragraph. Because it can understand multiple languages better, it can also localize and translate content, making it easy for people to create posters or designs for different regions.
Nano Banana Pro also offers stronger creative control. Google says the model can combine more elements at once, including up to fourteen different images. It can even maintain the look of up to five people inside a scene, which helps designers, filmmakers and marketers who need consistent characters across multiple visuals. Users can transform sketches into realistic products, create 3D-style designs from blueprints or apply specific brand styles to mockups so their work looks uniform everywhere.
The editing features are also much more powerful. People can pick any part of an image and adjust it—change camera angles, focus, lighting and color tone, or even convert a daytime image into a night scene. Because the tool supports 2K and 4K resolutions, the visuals are suitable for everything from online posts to professional printing.
Google is offering Nano Banana Pro in different places depending on the user. Everyday consumers and students can try it through the Gemini app by choosing the “Create images” option. Free users will get a limited number of Pro-quality generations before switching back to the original Nano Banana. Paid Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers will get higher usage limits. In the United States, it will also be available through AI Mode in Google Search for Pro and Ultra users. NotebookLM subscribers around the world will also gain access.
For professionals, Google Ads is being upgraded to Nano Banana Pro to give advertisers stronger creative tools. Workspace users will soon see it in Google Slides and Google Vids. Developers and businesses will find it in the Gemini API, Google AI Studio and soon in Vertex AI for large-scale content creation. Creatives and filmmakers who use Google’s Flow tool will also get the upgraded model if they are Google AI Ultra subscribers.
Since AI-generated images are becoming more common, Google says it’s important for people to know which images are made by AI. That’s why every image made with Google’s tools will include a hidden SynthID watermark. Users can upload an image to the Gemini app and ask whether it was generated by Google AI, thanks to this technology. Free and Pro users will also see a small visible watermark on their images. Ultra subscribers and developers using Google AI Studio will get clean images without the visible mark for professional use.
With Nano Banana Pro, Google hopes to make high-quality visual creation available to anyone, whether they are students learning a new topic or creators building professional-level designs.
